Adam Fesker is one of the very first Artificials ever created. The product of VariType industry's Genetics2 project headed by Doctor Albert Fesker, Adam was 'born' nearly 35 years ago. Adam is made entirely from artificial tissue, engineered and grown in VariType labs and then assembled into a living being. Though Albert Fesker is among the most brilliant bio-genetic engineers on the planet, Adam's creation was a virgin process and many complications arose. The team was unable to give the Artificial growing hair or nails, so they left him without, merely applying nail facades and implanting small lengths of wire to act as eyelashes within the Artificial's lids. The tissue proved to be unyielding and shaping them into limbs difficult, so Adam's limbs and extremities are much longer than they should be. The tissue used to form muscles was also found to be much stronger than human muscle tissue giving the Artificial abnormal levels of strength and endurance. Reproductive organs were deemed too costly early in the project and were never attempted. Finally, Adam Fesker was the very first Artifial to contain no human brain cells at all. Fearing that he may grow beyond their control a series of conditions were implanted onto his brain to keep him under the corporation's finger.

Adam Fesker soon became VariType's shining achievment in the field and enjoyed a life of privilege for many years. His vanity, and taste for finely tailored white suits earned him the nickname 'the Swan', although it was detested by both Adam and Alber Fesker. Adam's time at the top was short lived however, and soon the newer generations of Artificials based on his design replaced him in the scientific lime light. Adam, not without remaining talents, was transferred to VariType's Special Operations Department under the command of William Fetcher. While in the S.O.D. he received an assignment to track down VariType's latest generation Artificial, named Switch Fesker who had recently escaped his corporate penthouse and managed to flee New Delhi.
